Challenge

Our client is an international retail chain with more than 200 physical stores and a mature e-store, it employs over 4000 people and have annual sales exceeding 6 billion SEK. Our challenge was to design the warehouse process to minimise workload both at the central location as well as in the stores.

Solution

MYSIGMA recommended a complete redesign of the central warehouse and to introduce high-tech automation for storage and retrieving. By automating the picking pace and warehouse utilisation could be increase while labour costs were kept under control. To meet the high requirements of the online customers a separate set-up was introduced for the e-commerce and mail order flows.

Impact

The two main outcomes of the project was

  • New distribution set-up implemented.
  • New highly automatic (outstanding in Scandinavia) warehouse in full operation.
