THE MYSIGMA STORY

MYSIGMA was founded in 1970 by Professor Lars O Södahl . The founding idea of MYSIGMA was to offer high-quality advice to large- and medium sized companies with regards to capital utilization and manufacturing and distribution strategy.

During the first two decades, the MYSIGMA trademark became well known throughout Scandinavia and the firm grew to 40 consultants with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo and London. MYSIGMA was intensively active in developing new ideas and concepts related to material flow planning and control as a means of supporting clients to become more efficient and achieve results related to e.g. inventory reduction, lead-time reduction or service-level increase. Other MYSIGMA groundbreaking activities, during this period in time, were early adoption of Japanese manufacturing principles, arranging several study trips to excellent Japanese manufacturing companies and engaging the legendary Shigeo Shingo in MYSIGMA´s projects.

MYSIGMA was approached by several larger players in the consultancy industry, one of which acquired the firm and integrated MYSIGMA into its Operations excellence division.

MYSIGMA in its present form was reestablished in 2007 by five founding partners and former MYSIGMA consultants. Offices were opened in Lund and Stockholm. The service offering was built on one of the most important cornerstones from old times: High quality consulting with an obsession of creating lasting results for clients. The firm has since its restart remained independent and self-funded being owned by active partners.

Over the past six years MYSIGMA has grown steadily and today employs about 20 consultants. The expansion has focused on employing highly motivated and high performing graduates from leading engineering schools as well as professionals with long experience from consultancy. A subsidiary was opened in Oslo during 2013 and further expansion initiatives are under way.

Going forward, MYSIGMA will continue to focus on its core service offering of providing best-in class delivery of high-quality advice and implementation of change. The firm’s team and geographic presence will be further strengthened. MYSIGMA will continue to work with its current client base and expand to new assignments and new clients based on its strong track-record.
