Our client is an international retail chain with more than 200 stores and a mature e-store, it employs over 4000 people and have annual sales exceeding 6 billion SEK. Our challenge was to design the warehouse process to minimise workload both at the central location as well as in the stores.
The two main outcomes of the project was:
MYSIGMA recommended a complete redesign of the central warehouse and to introduce automation for storage and retrieving. Through automation the picking pace and warehouse utilization could be increase while labor costs were kept under control. To meet the high requirements of the online customers a separate set-up was introduced for the e-commerce and mail order flows.
